20-Year-Old Thank You – Jerome Lafond

A FINAL THANK YOU AND GOODBYE TO OUR 20 YEAR OLDS – Jerome Lafond

The Swan Valley Stampeder organization would like to sincerely thank defenceman Jerome-Henry Lafond for his contributions to the team in his brief tenure.

The Swan Valley Stampeders acquired the 2000 born, right-shot defenceman from the Montreal-Est Rangers of the QJAAAHL in late October. Due to the COVID-19 rules in place at the time of the acquisition, Lafond quarantined for two weeks before suiting up for the Stampeders. Due to the timing of the league-wide shutdown, Jerome only dressed in one road game.

The 20-year-old spent the last two seasons with the Longueuil College-Francais of the QJAAAHL and dressed in one game with the Shawinigan Cataracts the QMJHL. The 5’11 185 lbs Quebec City, Que.,  native dressed in 152 games, scoring 5 goals adding 21 assists.

“Jerome is a very strong skating defenceman and although we only had him for one game, he quickly fit into the locker room,” said Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff. “He is a fierce competitor that finished his hits, had a high-end compete level, a great first pass, a very hard shot, was strong on walls and in one on one battles. Jerome is a great kid and teammate that we wish the Stampeder fans would have had a chance to see him play live at home.”

The entire Swan Valley Stampeder Organization would like to thank you Jerome and wish you, and your family, all the best as you move forward.
