IG Wealth Management Pre-Game Report: Stampeders – 0-0-0-0 vs Dauphin Kings – 0-0-0-0
Stampeders Power Play % (0%) Penalty Kill % (0%) – Dauphin Kings Power Play % (0%) Penalty Kill % (0%)
After an eventful main camp, pre-season, and solidifying their roster, the Swan Valley Stampeders are back and are ready to face-off against the Dauphin Kings for their season/home opener.
Coming off of a very up and down 2024-25 season which seen the Stampeders finish sixth in the MGEU West Division with a record of 17-34-5-2 record, the team looks to a fresh start, especially since the news came about, that Josh Tripp has taken over the Head Coach and General Manager job.
The Stampeders played well under the watch of Tripp to end the 2024-25 campaign, ending the season with a .500 win percentage and come as close as 5 points out of a playoff position in the MJHL. They will now look to carry that momentum into this season, as they attempt to make a return to the playoffs for the first time since 2023.
The Stampeders welcomed back 14 returning players from last year’s team, while the Kings got 11 back. Here are the players to watch for in tonight’s game;
Stampeders: Ben Groome, Gavin Bartha, Riley Fequet
Kings: Madden Murray, Joey Kubas, Ty Pratte
Make sure to take note of opening ceremonies which will start at 6:45-6:50 pm prior to the game.
The Stampeders lost the season series last season against their Parkland Rivals (1-5-0-0), and will look to change that this season, when they welcome the Kings to the Swan River Centennial Arena tonight at 7 pm.
