Stampeders host Monarchs in first Multicultural Night

The Stampeders welcome the Winnipeg Monarchs to town for the first time ever tonight, this is also the first ever Multicultural Night event for the Stampeders, welcoming all different cultures in the Swan Valley. Tonight’s game is sponsored by the Swan Valley Co-Op, along with the cultures from the Swan Valley Immigrant Services.
Like the Stampeders, the Monarchs have struggled to start the season, with their only win coming against the Northern Manitoba Blizzard. The Monarchs have scored 18 goals in total, but have given up a league high 79 goals against.
The Stampeders are coming off a huge 4-3 OT win over the Winnipeg Blues, which saw Riley Fequet score twice in the win. Tonight is full of firsts, as Stampeder forward Jake Giacobbo makes his regular season debut after missing the last month due to illness, check out the full details for the projected lineup at 4 pm.
The Stampeders sit two points back of the Neepawa Titans, a win for them tonight would see them sit tied for fourth in the MGEU West Division. It would be a huge momentum swing for Josh Tripp’s squad to make it two in a row.

Tomorrow, the Stampeders will welcome the Portage Terriers to town for the first meeting of the season between the two teams. Tonight’s game will start at 7 pm with culture booths opening at 6 pm, while tomorrow’s game will also start at 7 pm.
