Stampeders welcome Terriers for Saturday night tilt
Stampeders: 3-8-0-0 (T4th in West Division) Power Play % (17.5%) Penalty Kill % (67.5%)
Terriers: 6-2-1-0 (4th in East Division) Power Play % (14.6%) Penalty Kill % (89.1%)
After a well played game against the Winnipeg Monarchs last night, the Stampeders will look to end the weekend on a good note, as they welcome the Portage Terriers to town tonight.
The Terriers are yet again a very tough team to play against. They have possibly the best goaltender in the MJHL as of right now in Ryan Velan, and a deep forward group to go a long with their defensive core.
However, the Terriers find themselves one coach, and three players out, as Blake Spiller, Dylan Karran, Noah Therrien, and Breck Hirrschof are currently serving suspensions. But, the Stampeders cannot take this Terrier team lightly even if short-handed.
A full 60 minutes is needed in order for the Stampeders to have a good chance to defeat the Terriers, who will be hungry for a win after they’re 7-1 loss to the Steinbach Pistons on Wednesday.
Players to Watch:
Stampeders: Ethan MacTavish, Finlay Johnston, Trace Langan
Terriers: Owen Witt, Rhett Platt, Ryan Velan
Following tonight’s game, the Stampeders will take a small break before heading to Waywayseecappo to face the Wolverines on Tuesday, Oct. 21 for a 7:30 pm puck drop.
