Stampeders travel to Dauphin for weekend wrap up
Stampeders: 1-0-0-0 (T1st in West) vs Dauphin Kings 0-1-0-0 (T6th in West)
Stampeders Power Play % (40%) Penalty Kill % (100%) – Dauphin Kings Power Play % (0%) Penalty Kill (60%)
After a crazy opening game in Swan River last night, the Swan Valley Stampeders travel to Dauphin for the second game of the home and home, finding themselves as the road team in this one.
Last night was an absolute movie for the Stamps, as they scored six unanswered goals, and come back from a 3-0 deficit to win the game 6-3. The line of Riley Fequet, Ben Groome, and Ethan MacTavish combined for nine points on the night, with all three having a goal and two assists.
Tonight, the Kings will look to bounce back after almost sitting back in the drivers seat, allowing the Stamps to eventually surge and win the game. If the Kings want the split, they’ll need to put in the full 60 minute effort and not allow the Stampeders depth wear them down.
For the Stampeders, a better start to the game is definitely in their sights, as the Kings opened last night’s opening frame with two goals and outshot the Stamps 15-8. In a perfect world, maybe you can get away with that once or twice, but in this case, the Stampeders also need to utilize their depth for a full 60 minutes, as well as making sure they’re very hard to play against in their own zone by assuring the puck gets out of the defensive territory.
Players to watch;
Stampeders: Riley Fequet (1G, 2A), Ethan MacTavish (1G, 2A), and Ben Groome (1G, 2A)
Kings: Rylan Gage, Madden Murray, Ty Pratte
This one is going to be another showstopper for fans around the MJHL, one can only wonder what tonight has in store. It’s the Stampeders, it’s the Kings, puck drops at 7 pm. Watch the game on FloHockey.
