Stampeders open weekend in Steinbach
Stampeders: 6-13-0-0 (5th in West) Power Play % (19.7% 9th in MJHL) Penalty Kill % (71.8% 12th in MJHL)
Pistons: 13-4-1-0 (T2nd in East) Power Play % (23.2% 5th in MJHL) Penalty Kill % (86.7% T2nd in MJHL)
The Stampeders are back on the road tonight as they head to Steinbach to take on the Pistons for the second time this season.
The Stamps are coming off a tough 5-1 loss in Waywayseecappo on Wednesday night. The first two periods saw the Stamps within striking distance, down 1-0 after the first, and 2-0 after the second, but a flat-footed third and inability to capitalize on chances saw the Stampeders fall.
However, the Stampeders are 5-5 in their last 10 games which has been crucial toward their season. With just 11 games remaining in the first half of the season, the Stampeders cannot afford a losing record to end the first half.
The Pistons are 3-2 in their last five games, with their most recent loss coming against the Niverville Nighthawks by a 4-0 score. Despite that, the Pistons are always dangerous and will look to continue their winning ways tonight.
Players to Watch:
Stampeders: Trace Langan, Gavin Bartha, Riley Fequet
Pistons: Jack Greenwell, Evan Gradt, Brody Green
Tonight’s game will start at 7 pm and the Stampeders will end the weekend in Winkler tomorrow night at 7:30 pm.
