Stampeders end week in Winkler against Flyers
Stampeders: 6-13-1-0 (5th in West) Power Play % (22.5% 5th in MJHL) Penalty Kill % (72.2% 12th in MJHL)
Flyers: 7-9-1-0 (5th in East) Power Play % (24.2% 3rd in MJHL) Penalty Kill % (87.5% 2nd in MJHL)
Coming off a well deserved point last night in Steinbach, the Stampeders will look to get back in the win column as they face the Winkler Flyers tonight in Winkler.
It was a big night for the special teams for the Stampeders, as they went 3/4 on the man-advantage. However, a big reason to why they were unable to get back on track in the game was the amount of penalties the Stampeders took 8 penalties, and cannot afford to do such that again.
The Flyers are coming off a 5-0 win over the Waywayseecappo Wolverines last night. They had a big night on the special teams as well, going 2/8 on the power-play and killing off six penalties. If the Stampeders want to end this weekend on a good note, they’ll need to repeat what they did last night against the Pistons, with the exception of less penalties taken.
Players to Watch:
Stampeders: Darren Hunt, Trace Langan, Easton Falls
Flyers: Niklas Gudmundson, Liam Carlone, Jacob Michelson
This is the second last road game of the month, as the Stampeders will head to Neepawa on Nov. 26. Three home games also surround the end of the month, as the Stamps will welcome the Dauphin Kings on Nov. 19, the number one team in the MJHL, Niverville Nighthawks on Nov. 22, and Nov. 29 will be against the Portage Terriers.
