IG Wealth Management – Pre Game Report

Stamps look forward to big meeting against Titans

Stampeders: 7-21-3-1 (5th in West) Power Play % (22.5% 7th in MJHL) Penalty Kill % (66.7% 13th in MJHL)

Titans: 19-15-0-1 (3rd in West) Power Play % (25.9% 2nd in MJHL) Penalty Kill % (79.5% 6th in MJHL)

It’s the third meeting of the season between the Stamps and the Titans, once again coming inside of Yellowhead Centre tonight at 7:30 pm.

The Titans have been able to win the first two games of the season series, both in extra time. Arguably, these two teams are possibly the fastest building rivalry in the MJHL. Though never meeting in the MJHL playoffs, these two teams have had some very close games against each other.

To make it blunt, the Stampeders are largely overdue for a win over the Titans. As they’ve held leads into the third period against the Titans both games this season, but Neepawa has been able to negated that and come up with the extra point.

Neepawa sits comfortably in third place in the MGEU West Division, sitting 7 points ahead of the Wayway Wolverines, and are coming off a huge win over the Winnipeg Blues by a 6-1 score. While the Stamps are coming off a tough road game in Selkirk, which seen them take 6 penalties to the Steelers and give up 3 power play goals.

With the season now at the half way point, the Stampeders must do everything they can to get back into the playoff race.

Players to Watch:

Stampeders: Zach Hertz, Dylan Ruff, Crosby Harrison

Titans: Jack Clark, Logan Paquette, Cooper Kasprick

The Stampeders have also named a brand new leadership group for their team. Jake Giacobbo, Nate Hayes, and Jaxon Haley will wear A’s on their jerseys as alternate captains, while Ben Groome will take over the captaincy for the rest of the season.
