Stampeders return home to face Oil Capitals
Stampeders: 1-4-0-0 (5th in West Division) Power Play % (23.1%) Penalty Kill % (63.6%)
Oil Capitals: 2-2-0-0 (T3rd in West Division) Power Play % (12.5%) Penalty Kill % (72.7%)
The Stampeders are back on home ice tonight for the first of seven home games in the month of October, after the tough start in September. One thing that has caught the eye of the Stampeders struggles, is their defensive capabilities, the team has scored 18 goals in their first five games which is second in the West Division, but have given up 30 goals in the first 5 games of the year, which sits second last in the entire league.
Long story short, the Stampeders are getting no shortage of offence, but need to play a good defensive game in order to defeat the high powered Oil Capital offence. The Oil Caps are coming off of a win in their last game against the Winnipeg Monarchs after dropping two in a row to Waywayseecappo and Niverville. With the home team’s back up against the wall, they’ll look to try and play spoiler tonight as the Stampeders try and dig themselves out of their early hole.
Players to watch:
Stampeders – Trace Langan, Darren Hunt, Chantyn Michell-Thompson
Oil Capitals – Landon Hoilett, Bryce Bryant, Ty Plaisier
