IG Wealth Management – Pre-Game Report

Stampeders begin week at home against Kings

Stampeders: 1-6-0-0 (5th in West Division) – Power Play % (20%) – Penalty Kill % (65.6%)

Kings: 3-1-0-0 (T3rd in West Division) – Power Play % (11.1%) – Penalty Kill % (84.6%)

The Stampeders are back on home ice tonight as they face the Dauphin Kings, as they try to get out of their current hump of six straight losses.

The Stamps have been impacted by the injury bug early in this season, as some of their top players have been out for awhile, names like Ben Groome, Riley Fequet, and Jake Giacobbo are still expected to be out for awhile yet. Most of the players are also dealing with a sickness or some sort of small injury.

However, Swan needs to try get back on track tonight and try take advantage of the Kings long break, as they haven’t played a game in over a week, while the Stampeders are fresh off of game play.

Though injuries and illness of plagued the Stampeders, they have shown that they can play well while short-handed and have shown that they can score goals, but, the overall defence is still in question, having a good game against Virden on Friday in Swan, but imploding in Virden on Saturday.

Players to watch-

Stampeders: Chantyn Michell-Thompson, Jaxon Haley, Ethan MacTavish

Kings: Quinten Fisk, Ethan Stewart, Nicolas Zaharias

Following tonight’s game, the Stampeders will head to Steinbach on Friday and Winnipeg on Saturday for yet another quick road trip.
