Main Camp Comes To A Close, Preseason On The Way

The Swan Valley Stampeders held their 2019 Main Camp this past weekend with three full days of exciting junior hockey.

Nearly 80 players ascended on the Swan River valley vying for a spot on the Stampeders 23 man roster for opening day. A well run and very structured camp was exciting for both the players and the organization.

Head Coach and General Manager Geoff Grimwood put his stamp on a great weekend after taking over from recently departed Barry Wolff.

The weekend was capped off by a White vs Black Intra Squad game Sunday afternoon at the Centennial Arena.

Associate Coach Suniel Karod had this to say about camp, and moving forward into preseason action…..

 

The Stamps’ will play a home and home against the Kings starting Monday September 2nd at Credit Union Place in Dauphin. The two teams will return to the Centennial Arena the next night (Tuesday) for a 7:30pm puck drop.

From there, the Stampeders will travel north to play the Flin Flon Bombers on Wednesday September 4th and return to Swan River Thursday September 5th at 7:30pm to host the same Bomber squad.

The team will then enjoy a five day break before traveling to OCN to take on the Blizzard Wednesday September 11th. Swan Valley will finish off the preseason Friday September 13 as they play host to OCN.
