MNP Home Opener Game Day Report

SWAN RIVER, MB – With COVID-19 restrictions gone, main camp over and preseason completed, the team is set and ready to go tonight at the Centennial Arena.

The Swan Valley Stampeders will be looking to build on a very up-and-down season last year where they posted a record of 22-27-1-4, good enough to make the MJHL playoffs. Swan couldn’t complete the comeback against the Dauphin Kings in the first round of playoffs last year, ending their season earlier than they wanted.

That slow burn has been with the returning players and coaching staff through the summer to which they look to rebound starting tonight on home ice.

Stampeder fans across the Valley are extremely excited for the start of the 2022-23 MJHL Regular Season that gets underway today (Sept. 16).

The MNP Home Opener will kick off with activities starting at 6 p.m. outside of the Centennial Arena. As you arrive for the game, look for MNP’s “Sharp Shooter” challenge being held near the front doors! All successful “Sharp Shooters” will get a ticket for a chance to win a great prize to be drawn during the game!

“The Home Opener this year is going to be another fantastic evening for everyone to be a part of,” said Director of Marketing Cody Manchester. “This year we aren’t dealing with the mask or vaccination requirements and we expect a full house to support these young men.”

Fans are encouraged to arrive early and to be in their seats by 6:50 p.m. for player introductions.

Both season and single-game tickets are available online at stampedershockey.com or at the door.

12 and under are free courtesy of Elbert Chartrand Friendship Centre.
