Stamps fall narrowly to Flyers on Friday night
The Stampeders fought hard but came up short on Friday night in the corral, falling 2-1 to the Winkler Flyers.
The Stampeders got off to a slow start to the game, going down 1-0 five minutes into the game, the score would remain 1-0 after 20 minutes of play.
The middle frame was a lot different than the first, as the Stampeders played much better and saw numerous chances on goal but could not buy the equalizer. The score would remain 1-0 going into the third period of play.
The final frame would see some back and forth fireworks, chances from both ends, big hits, big saves, and an equalizer by the Stamps, as Ethan MacTavish tied the game late in the period.
However, tiny mistakes and turnovers prove to haunt the Stamps, as Winkler scored the go-ahead goal with just under five minutes left in the third, eventually hanging on to win 2-1.
Easton Falls made 30/32 in the loss.
