New Country Motel – Post Game Report

Stamps get back into win column after 5-2 win over Wayway

The Stampeders played a full 60 minute effort on the board to gain a 5-2 win over the Wayway Wolverines on Tuesday night.

It all started with the opening goal by Ethan MacTavish with his 10th goal of the season, followed by Karson Connelly scoring his first MJHL goal just under two minutes later. The score would remain 2-0 after 20 minutes.

The only goal of the second period would go to Darren Hunt, who has now scored twice in as many games. The Stampeder power-play went 3/5 on the night, and the penalty kill has gotten much better, going a perfect 5/5 on killing penalties.

Trace Langan and Riley Fequet would score to make it 5-0, but the Wolverines would get two in the late goings of the period to cut the lead to 5-2, but it was too little too late, as the Stamps rolled to a 5-2 win.

Easton Falls made 25/27 in the win.

Next up: The Stampeders will rest up for a matchup with the Virden Oil Capitals on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 pm.
