New Country Motel – Post Game Report

Stampeders fall apart in second, fall 6-0 in Virden

The Stampeders opened the game great, getting tons of scoring chances in the first period, but fell apart in the second and third periods to give Virden a 6-0 win.

The first period saw a close and back and forth style of play begin the game, arguably, the Stampeders had more chances in the first than the Oil Capitals, and controlled most of the play despite being outshot 13-10 in the frame.

The second started with the Stampeders on the penalty kill, which led to Virden opening the scoring and they never looked back, as they put on 21 shots the middle frame. Easton Falls kept his team in it, making 32/34 through two periods.

The third saw sloppy and a completely fatigued Stampeder team give up four goals, leading to a 6-0 loss.

Next up; The Stampeders will take a week off and have their Game Night Extravaganza on Friday, Nov. 7 at the Museum Hall, make sure to get your tickets! After that, the biggest night of the year is here, as the Stampeders host the Winnipeg Blues for the Amara’s Amigos game on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7 pm.
