Stampeders salvage point in Steinbach
The Stampeders turned up the heat on the Steinbach Pistons on Friday night, leading 2-1 and 3-2 but eventually falling 4-3 in OT on the road, salvaging a very important point.
The game began in a flash, as the Pistons scored just 2:29 into the first for a 1-0 lead. However, the Stampeders got awarded a power play which went 3/4 on the night, as Trace Langan found a rebound on the side of the net and tucked home his seventh of the season to tie the game.
Just over a minute later, and awarded a second power play, Darren Hunt would deflect a point shot from Gavin Bartha for a 2-1 lead. Later in the frame, Evan Gradt would tie things up at two with a power play goal for the Pistons. The Stampeders would take the lead once again on a Gavin Bartha power-play goal to make it 3-2, but Marek Miller struck back to tie the game again, this time at 3-3.
The story of the night however was the play of Easton Falls, as he made 50/54 saves on the night, and a total of 33 in the next three frames. Jack Greenwell would score the OT winner to seal the 4-3 win for the Pistons.
Next up; The Stampeders will head to Winkler tomorrow night for a 7:30 pm puck drop against the Flyers.
