Stampeders fall 7-5 in Winnipeg on Saturday night
The Stampeders played in quite the game of ups and downs tonight, as they fell 7-5 to the Blues.
The first period of play was as even as an opening period could get, as both teams striked with goals in the frame. Finlay Johnston scored his first MJHL goal to tie the game in the first.
To follow that up, the Blues would come alive in the second, scoring three goals in the middle frame, while Bennett Muller scored on the power-play, which would equal to a 4-2 Blues lead going into the third period.
The two teams would combine for six goals in the final frame, with the Blues managing to hang onto their lead to win 7-5. Crosby Harrison (x2) and Ekam Dhaliwal scored but it wasn’t enough. Trigg Pimm made 46/53 saves in the loss.
Next up; The Stampeders will end their road trip in Waywayseecappo as they face the Wolverines on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 7:30 pm.
