Stampeders fight hard but fall 5-4 in SO
The Stampeders held a 4-1 lead in the second period, but the Titans were able to claw out a 5-4 shootout win on Friday night.
The Stampeders mostly dominated play throughout the entire game, scoring right off the hop courtesy of Ben Groome, followed by Jaxon Haley. Things were looking very good after a period that saw the Stampeders get 15 shots on goal, to Neepawa’s 5.
The second saw two goals from both sides, as the Titans made it 2-1, but Cade Bolding was able to score his first in the MJHL to make it 3-1, then, Groome scored again to make it 4-1. The Titans would score a late power-play goal in the second to make it 4-2.
Neepawa would score twice in the third and send the game to OT. The Stampeders completely dominated overtime but could not bury their chances. This led to a shootout, where Neepawa scored twice to win.
