New Country Motel – Post Game Report

Stamps get huge 8-2 dub over Wolverines

The Stampeders came out firing tonight as they potted 8 goals for an 8-2 thumping of the Wayway Wolverines.

A wild first period began when Wylie Smith came down the wing, got around a Wolverine defender, and tucked home his first as a Stampeder to make it 1-0. Crosby Harrison would make it 2-0 on a rebounded chance for his 8th of the year, and Noah Stott would also score his first as a Stamp to make it 3-0.

The Wolverines cut the lead down to 3-1 courtesy of Sebastien Hicks three minutes after the Stott goal. However, the two goal lead would quickly be made a three goal lead again, as Trace Langan scored his team leading 10th of the season.

Into the middle frame, Sebastian Stone would make it 4-2 just five minutes into the second. But the Stamps broke the score open, starting with Ben Groome on the power-play for his 6th of the season. Andrew Pidskalny would then make it 6-2 with his second of the season after being denied early in the game. Crosby Harrison would make it 7-2 with his second of the game to end the middle period.

To end things off for the goals, Jake Giacobbo, who hadn’t scored in 31 games finally managed to get his first of the year to make it 8-2 and put a cherry on the topping for the win. Easton Falls made 23/25 saves for the win.
