PAULL FUNERAL HOME 3 STARS OF THE WEEK!!

The Swan Valley Stampeders are coming off a tough week, going one for two on the road, and have now lost four out of their last five contests. Despite the recent struggles, the Stampeders are only four points back of first placing overall in the MJHL standings. The team continues to find offence from several players throughout their roster, making this week’s three stars another tough decision.

The Stampeders now sit with a impressive record of 8-4-1, but find themselves in sixth place through the first 13 games of their 2019-20 season. A tough week overall, but the team sits just four points out of first place with four games this upcoming week.

The “Three Stars of the Week” returns this year thanks to Paull Funeral Home & Crematorium.

The Three Stars of the Week will be awarded week-to-week with points being collected throughout the season. The top three players will be presenter an awarded before our final home game of the regular season.

Three stars point system is as follows:

1st Star = 5 points

2nd Star = 3 points

3rd Star = 1 point

THREE STARS (Oct 14– Oct 21)

3rd Star

Frazer Dodd continues to play hard upfront for the Stamps’. The 5’11” 165 lbs forward kick started the come-back Saturday night against the Virden Oil Capitals. The 20-year-old picked up his sixth goal of the year and would later score an unbelievable shootout winner against Virden.

2nd Star

Nathan Carl takes over this weeks second star award. The 19-year-old from Sherwood Park, AB picked up a goal and an assist last week with the Stampeders. Carl would help set up Josh Maucieri on the power play, and then scored the game tying goal against Virden Saturday. The 5’9” 154 lbs forward would also score in the shootout, helping his club snap a three game loosing streak.

1st Star

Josh Maucieri takes home this weeks first star honours. The native of Crosby, MN, USA picked up a goal and two assist with the Stamps’ last week. The 20-year-old picked up an assist in OCN last Wednesday, and would pick up a goal and an assist in the win over Virden Saturday night.

Honourable mentions this week go out to Tommy Cardinal (2A), Luke Beerman (1G), Leyson Coleman (1G), and Mattias Dal Monte (1G).

The Stamps’ will have another busy week with four games in five nights. They will host the Dauphin Kings Wednesday October 30 (Halloween at the Corral), Virden Friday November 1 (Tim Hortons), then the team will hit the road with stops in Portage Saturday November 2 and Selkirk Sunday November 3.
