Paull Funeral Home & Crematorium Three Stars of the Week (Dec. 31 – Jan. 7)

Every Monday we will be awarding three players who had a big week and giving them stars. We will be doing this week-to-week with points being collected throughout the season. The top three players will be recognized and presented an award during our final home game of the season.

The Swan Valley Stampeders had a tough week, losing back-to-back games to the Virden Oil Capitals and the Portage Terriers. On top of that, the Stampeders gave up 13 goals against while only scoring two of their own. With a record of 8-24-2-0 the Stampeders are for sure sellers at this years trade deadline. Swan Valley has already moved out 20-year-old forward Jakob Jones, 17-year-old forward Owen Warnick, 20-year-old defenceman Ashton Fishley and 20-year-old forward Trey Sauder ahead of January 10. Swan will look to their youth for the remainder of the season.

A busy week ahead – Swan Valley will be on the road for all four of their games this week with stops in Virden Tuesday, Steinbach Friday, and two games in Winnipeg Saturday and Sunday against the Freeze and the Blues.

Three star point system is as follows:

1st Star = 3 points

2nd Star = 2 points

3rd Star = 1 point
