Every Monday we will be awarding three players who had a big week and giving them stars. We will be doing this week-to-week with points being collected throughout the season. The top three players will be recognized and presented an award during our final home game of the season.
The Stampeders had another tough weekend, going 0-2 and falling to 5-16-2 on the season. Swan Valley fell to the Steinbach Pistons 4-1 Friday night and lost to the Virden Oil Capitals 3-2 Saturday night. A tough stretch of hockey has once again struck for the Stampeders where the offence has all but dried up. The horses need to start running quickly if they have a chance at making it to the playoffs during their 25th season in the MJHL.
The Stampeders continue to play hard and are right there in so many games over the last month but just can’t find the trigger man yet. The December 1 cut down date is looming and many teams will be looking to adjust their rosters.
The Week Ahead | The Stampeders have one game this week, that being against the Blizzard Wednesday Nov. 22 for our second annual Hockey is for Everyone game night. The Stamps will have a full week off following Wednesday nights game before returning to action Friday Dec. 1 against Neepawa and Saturday Dec. 2 against Selkirk at the Centennial Arena.
25th Season Blue Jerseys | The Stampeders wore their 25th season blue jerseys for the first time last Saturday night against the Virden Oil Capitals and they were a hit. Many great comments have come pouring in on social media and from fans at the game Saturday night. Swan Valley will wear the jersey again Friday Dec. 1 vs Neepawa and Tuesday Dec. 5 vs the Blizzard.
Hockey is for Everyone | The hockey for everyone game night is fast approaching. This year the Stampeders will host The Blizzard Wednesday Nov. 22. and will be wearing a special game night themed jersey. Be sure to get your tickets early as 300 have already been sold.

3rd Star
Callum Halls slides into the third star spot this week after scoring his first goal in 11 games. The 6’3” 205lbs forward scored the game’s only goal Friday night against the Steinbach Pistons.
2nd Stars
Alex Walicki returns after another solid weekend. The 20-year-old Calgary, AB product collected two goals and an assist for his team over the past two games. Walicki sits first in team scoring with 24 points (9G, 15A).
1st Star
Gage Stewart becomes the first goalie in the history of the three star weekly selections to earn three straight first star awards. The 20-year-old Division I commit continues to be a rockstar in net for the Stampeders. The 6’1” 195lbs Marathon, ON product posted at .929SV% and a 3.00 GAA in two games last weekend.
