Every Monday we will be awarding three players who had a big week and giving them stars. We will be doing this week-to-week with points being collected throughout the season. The top three players will be recognized and presented an award during our final home game of the season.
The Stampeders had an up and down week, collecting three of six points. The Stampeders started the week with a 5-2 win on the road in The Pas. The Stampeders entered Friday night’s game against the Winkler Flyers riding a two-game win streak but, that was snapped as the Flyers earned a 4-3 overtime win. Swan’s point streak ended Sunday night in The Pas, losing 2-1.
The Stampeders continue to play hard but cannot seem to find any traction this season. Goaltending has been a shining light through the past six games but, great goaltending cannot score you goals. The shots against and no offence is starting to once again show. Gage Stewart has been a complete stud in goal for the Stampeders, giving his team a chance to win every night.
The Week Ahead | The Stampeders will now use a six-game home-stand to try and kick-start their offence, and find wins to help them inch closer to a playoff position before the Christmas break.
25th Season Blue Jerseys | The Stampeders will be wearing their third jersey Saturday night at the Centennial Arena. This will be the first of 10 games this season the team will wear the Louisiana Pacific Swan Valley sponsored jersey.
Hockey is for Everyone | The hockey for everyone game night is fast approaching. This year the Stampeders will host The Blizzard Wednesday Nov. 22. and will be wearing a special game night themed jersey. More details released later this week. Stay tuned.
Three star point system is as follows:
1st Star = 3 points
