Stampeders Close Out The 2023 Portion of Their Schedule With A Win Saturday Night

The Swan Valley Stampeders set out to do exactly what they spoke of, defeating the Neepawa Titans and closing out the 2023 portion of their schedule with a positive.

The Stampeders offence was led by Josh Danis (2G, 1A), Trey Sauder (1G, 2A), Darius Makse (3A) while Gage Stewart stopped 39 shots to pick up his fifth win of the season.

The Stampeders jumped out to a 3-0 lead on home ice tonight, getting goals from Landen Gulutzan (3:37), Josh Danis (15:24) and Aidan Taylor (SH – 16:41). Something the team hasn’t been able to achieve this season.

The Titans shook off the first period and scored three straight goals of their own, tying the game at the 23 second mark of the third period. The Stampeders used back-to-back power play goals by Trey Sauder and Josh Danis to regain a two goal lead. The Titans responded with back-to-back goals of their own, roughly 30 seconds apart, silencing the Centennial Arena. Swan continued to chip away and eventually broke through as Alex Walicki put home a loose puck at 13:55. Callum Halls sealed the win at 17:16 of the third period and the Stampeders collected their eighth win of the season.
