Coming off of two straight losses, the Swan Valley Stampeders were looking to close out their road trip with a win Sunday February 24th.
The two teams finished off their game this afternoon, that was postponed back in October due to bad ice conditions at the Selkirk Recreational Complex.

When action resumed Sunday afternoon, the score was tied 3-3 with 9:27 remaining in the second period. Selkirk jumped on the Stamps’ mistake and quickly found themselves leading 4-3 as Carter Barley scored a short handed breakaway goal at 11:32. Former Stampeder Noah Basarab increased the Steelers lead to 5-3 at 14:07.
Alex Uryga finally solved Zachary Bennett at 19:25 of the third period but it wasn’t enough as the Selkirk Steelers held on to win 5-4.
The Stampeders went 0/3 this weekend and continue to search for their 40th win of the season. Stampeders record now sits at 39-13-3-2 with 3 games remaining in the season. The Stamps’ will return home Tuesday February 26th as they host the Neepawa Natives. Puck drop goes at 7:30pm.
