Stampeders Drop Fifth Straight Game, Fall 6-3 To The Winnipeg Freeze Saturday Night

The Swan Valley Stampeders dropped their fifth straight game Saturday night, losing 6-3 to the Winnipeg Freeze.

Xyon Kiemeney opened the scoring Saturday night, collecting his fifth of the season, short-handed, at 6:51 of the first. Callum Halls scored a short-handed goal of his own to tie the game, collecting his eighth of the season at 17:48.

Declan Whiteman regained the Freeze’s lead at 13:25 of the second period, scoring his fourth. Darius Makse crashed the net, poking home his team leading 10th goal of the season on the power play at 18:19.

Will Brown collected his first as a Stampeder, driving wide and snapping one home 17 seconds into the third. But, it was Matthew O’Sullivan scored back-to-back goals and Nicholas Cullen added an empty net goal and the Freeze skated to a 6-3 win on home ice.
