Stampeders Fall 2-1 Friday Night to the Steinbach Pistons

The Swan Valley Stampeders fell to 0-3 on the 2024-25 season, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Steinbach Pistons in La Broquerie Friday night.

The Steinbach Pistons threw everything but the kitchen sink at the Stampeders in the first period, sending 22 shots on net minder Jackson Miller. The 20-year-old from Estevan, SK turned aside all 22 shots he faced and was a story of tonight’s game.

The Pistons finally broke through in the second period as Brayden Berg found the back of the net at 8:36 of the second period. Carter DeMelo collected his first as a Stampeder two minutes later tying the game 1-1. Connor Paronuzzi added his second of the season on the power play at 12:06 giving the Pistons the lead after 40 minutes of play.

Swan Valley pushed in the third period but couldn’t find the equalizer, falling on the road against the Pistons.
