Stampeders Fall 8-3, Point Streak Snapped in Final Home Game of 2022

Swan River, MB. – The Swan Valley Stampeders point streak ended Saturday night, dropping a lob-sided 8-3 decision to the now MGEU West Division leaders.

Swan Valley’s offence was led by Justin Keck (1G), Tyler Park (1G), and Adam Rajsigl  (1G), while Loic Mainguy-Crepault and Kobe Grant split the loss in net.

The Story

The OCN Blizzard brought the storm with them on a chilly Saturday night, scoring four straight goals in the first period. Riley Zimmerman opened the scoring at 1:19, John Kremer added his fourth of the year at 9:16, Drayden Kurbatoff scored 32 seconds later and Miguel Bouvier scored with 42 seconds left giving the Blizzard a 4-0 lead heading into the dressing room.

Justin Keck finally broke through, scoring his 15th of the season 1:21 into the second period, giving the Stampeders some life. That was all but silenced as Michael Hlady collected his 10th of the year 23 seconds later. Ashotn Paul and Alex Bernauer scored 22 seconds apart giving the Blizzard a 7-1 lead. Tyler Park answered back, scoring his fourth of the season on the power play at 13:21.

Miguel Bouvier added a power play goal 46 seconds into the third period. Adam Rajsigl collected his sixth of the year at 18:08 and the Stampeders point streak was snapped at eight games, and have now fallen to second place in the MGEU West Division.
