Stampeders Get Shutout Friday Night, Losing Streak Hits Nine Games

The Swan Valley Stampeders have officially hit rock bottom, losing 2-0 to the Selkirk Steelers Friday night, pushing their losing streak to nine straight games. On top of that, the Stampeders haven’t scored a goal in 133 minutes of play. The last goal for the Stampeders came off the stick of Amar Powar at the 7:10 mark of the third period against Virden Friday Oct. 27.

It only took one even strength goal to take down the Stampeders Friday night and that came off the stick of Mathieu Moreira at the 11:27 mark of the second period. Nick Giasson added an empty net goal at 19:09 of the third period and the Steelers picked up two points on home ice.
