After a scoreless second period, the Stampeders were able to tie the game 2-2 on a deflection by Alex Walicki 4:47 into the third period. But, that’s all the offence the Stampeders could muster as Virden scored back-to-back power play goals a, minute apart, and added an empty net goal to earn their 20th win of the season.
