Stampeders lay back in Dauphin, fall 7-0 Saturday night
The Stampeders came into Dauphin tonight unprepared for the onslaught that the Kings were able to throw at them, as this one got away from the Stamps in a flash.
Despite playing a pretty even first five minutes of the first period, Joey Kubas, Cam Jansa, and Nicolas Zaharias scored goals for the home side in just 1:41 to make it 3-0 Kings after one period of play.
Only one goal was called for in the second period as Ethan Stewart got one passed Sam Bastien for the 4-0 lead. The Kings would add three more courtesy of Stewart, Kale Pratte, and Rylan Gage.
The game could’ve been a lot different had the Stampeders been able to cash in on the numerous chances the team had, hitting numerous goal posts, and struggling with small mistakes.
Excuses aside, the Stampeders will get a few days to prepare for their first road trip of the season, as they head to Selkirk next Friday, Sept. 26 to face the Steelers at 7:30 pm, then the Winnipeg Blues on Saturday, Sept. 27 again at 7:30 pm.
