Stampeders Push Point Streak to Five Games, Win 6-2 in Winnipeg Saturday Night

Winnipeg , MB. – The Swan Valley Stampeders pushed their win streak to two games and their point streak to five games with a dominating 6-2 win in Winnipeg Saturday night.

The Stampeders offence was led by Collin Jennings (1G, 2A), Landen Gulutzan (1G, 1A), Trey Sauder, Griffin Ayotte, Josh Danis, and Alex Walicki all collected a goal while Kobe Grant stopped 26/28 shots he faced for his 16th win of the year.

The Story 

The Stampeders played another solid road game, only giving up one power play during their game against Winnipeg. Swan Valley was able to jump out to a 1-0 lead on a great passing play by Myles Mason and Landen Gulutzan to find a wide open Josh Danis who went five-hole for his fourth of the year.

The Stampeders used a power play in the second period to go up 2-0 as Justin Keck sent a shot on goal that was deflected in by Trey Sauder at 3:04. Brandon Funk collected his first of the game, scoring just over six minutes later to pull the Blues to within one. Alex Walicki cleaned up a wild rebound at the side of the net, giving his team a 3-1 lead heading into the third period.

The Stampeders came out flying, scoring three straight goals, giving them a 6-1 lead. Griffin Ayotte scored his fourth of the year, ripping one past Brock Moroz 50 seconds into the third. Collin Jennings silenced the crowd with another unbelievable solo effort, scoring short-handed at 5:17. Landen Gulutzan collected his third of the year on the power play at 17:09. Brandon Funk scored his second of the game 30 seconds later but, it wasn’t enough as the Stampeders skated to a 6-2 win over Winnipeg Saturday night at the RINK Training Centre.
