Stampeders Season Comes To An End, Fall 3-2 in Game 6 Monday Night

A chance to hoist the Turnbull Cup will have to wait another season as the Swan Valley Stampeders were eliminated Monday night by a final score of 3-2.

The Stampeders found a way to open the scoring as Josh Danis beat Dominik Wasik in tight for his second of the post-season, 7:40 into the first period.

Steinbach used a massive second period, scoring three straight goals by Travis Hensrud (5:21), Ian Amsbough (6:21) and Ty Paisley (16:35) to take a 3-1 lead. Alex Walicki answered back, poking one past Wasik at 18:43 of the second period and that was it for offence.

Swan Valley tried everything to tie the game in the third period but came up empty-handed, falling 3-2 to the Steinbach Pistons and were eliminated from the MJHL Playoffs.

The Stamps’ unbelievable season came to an end Monday night, but it was a hell of a year – one you cannot hang your heads at.

We want to take this opportunity to thank all of our corporate sponors, volunteers, billets, parents, staff, the Stampeder board and our Director of Marketing – Cody Manchester for another amazing year of Stampeder Hockey.

And to you, our fans…we cannot thank you enough for what you do for us. You were with us every step of the way… Thank you so very much for your continued support.

We will be back, you can be sure of that.
