Stampeders Sign 2004-Born Defeceman Matthew Munro to a Letter of Intent

The Swan Valley Stampeders of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League are proud to announce that 2004-born defenceman Matthew Munro has signed a Letter of Intent with the Stampeders.

Munro who hails from Swan River, MB, collected four goals, adding 19 assists for 23 points in 29 games played with the U18 Parkland Rangers this past season. Munro was the Ranger team Captain.

“Matthew was an absolute pleasure to coach,” said Rangers Head Coach Tyler Carefoot. “He is the ultimate competitor, he played lots of minutes for us in all situations, and he is an offensive defenceman that takes pride in battles. He’s a good skater with a good shot from the point.”

“We are excited to have Matthew sign a Letter of Intent,” added Stampeder Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff. “It’s always special when you can add a local Swan River kid to the Stampeder roster. He is a great leader, great player and a better person.”

The Stampeders welcome Matthew Munro and his family to the organization.
