Stampeders Snap Losing Streak, Win Big Friday Night At The Centennial Arena

The Swan Valley Stampeders snapped their losing streak in a big way Friday, defeating the Neepawa Titans 6-2.

Swan Valley’s offence was led by Aidan Taylor (2G), Jakob Jones (1G, 2A) Ashton Fishley (3A), while Gage Stewart stopped 38 shots for his third win of the season.

The Stampeders came out flying Friday night, looking like a completely different team. That speed helped the Stampeders grab the games first goal. Jakob Jones led a two-on-one, shooting on net  and the speedster Aidan Taylor deposited the rebound for his first as a Stampeder, 3:52 into the game.  Jakob Jones added to the Stampeder lead just over seven minutes later, snapping home his ninth of the year from the point. Tim Tychonick cut into the Stampeders lead at 18:45 of the first period, scoring his seventh of the season.

Trey Sauder regained the Stampeders two goal lead, depositing a rebound at 18:55 of the second period, collecting his seventh of the year on the power play.

Aidan Taylor scored his second of the night at 1:39 of the third period, Dobie Unrau collected his third of the year at 6:13 and the Stampeders lead 5-1. Keenan Skrupa beat Stewart with one minute left but it wasn’t enough as Josh Danis scored with 10 seconds left in the game and Swan Valley found a way to win on home ice Friday night.
