Stampeders Two Game Win Streak Snapped In OCN

The Stampeders two game win streak was snapped by OCN Wednesday night, losing 4-0 to the Blizzard at the Gordon Lathlin Memorial Centre.

The OCN Blizzard took the final meeting between the two teams, using a pair of power play goals to defeat the Stampeders. With tonight’s 4-0 win, the OCN Blizzard evened the season series at three.

Penalty trouble late in the first period allowed the OCN Blizzard to take the lead, as Cyrus Toth opened the scoring on the power play with 1:20 left in the first.

Riley Zimmerman gave the Blizzard a 2-0 lead, collecting his third of the year at 11:10 of the middle frame.

Ben Hilhorst would score a pair of goals in the third period, en-route to a 4-0 drubbing over the Stampeders.

Swan will return home and get set for back-to-back games this weekend. The Stampeders will welcome the Waywayseecappo Wolverines Saturday February 15 at 7:30p.m., and Winnipeg Sunday February 16 at 6:00p.m.. Saturday’s game is a presentation of the Swan Valley Star & Times, and a skate with the Stampeders will follow Sunday’s contest. Helmets are mandatory.
