Stampeders Win Streak Snapped at Four, Lose 5-2 Friday Night

The Swan Valley Stampeders win streak was snapped at four games Friday night after losing 4-1 to the visiting Neepawa Titans.

The Stampeder offence was led by Deepkaran Hans and Nicolas Roussel who each collected a goal, Cole Chauvette added a pair of assists and Kobe grant suffered the loss in net.

The Titans used the Stampeders’ game against them and scored four straight goals, including two power play goals by Austin Clyne in the opening six minutes, to down the red-hot Stampeders. Camden Smith added his seventh of the year just over four and a half minutes later and Cameron Trimble added his first of the game, scoring less than a minute later to give his team a commanding 4-0 lead. Hans added to his point collection, scoring his second of the year at 18:19 of the opening frame, getting his team on the board after an atrocious first period.

The two teams traded several chances in the middle frame but neither goalie gave an inch, stopping everything directed on the net.

Newcomer Roussel scored his first as a Stampeder at 8:15 of the third period but it wasn’t enough as Cameron Trimble scored into an empty net with 35 seconds left to win 5-2.
