Stamps Beat Neepawa 3-0, Win Fifth Straight

The Swan Valley Stampeders improved their record to 6-1 Friday night, beating Neepawa 3-0.

Michael Davis stopped 27 shots for his first shutout of the year, Trevor Schroder picked up a goal and an assist, and Josh Beauchemin scored the game winner as the Stamps win their fifth in a row.

18-year-old forward Josh Beauchemin (Leyson Coleman, Trevor Schroder) would open the scoring tonight, finishing off a great passing play at 17:59 of the first period. Michael Davis turned aside all seven shots he faced in the first period and the Stamps lead 1-0.

Callum Fortin would put the Stamps up by two, 3:45 into the middle frame, tapping home a cross ice pass from Parker Johnson.

Trevor Schroder would finish off a pass from Lane Kirk, 3:36 into the 3rd period and the Stampeders went on to defeat the Natives 3-0. Michael Davis stopped all 27 shots he faced, picking up his first shutout of the year.

With tonight’s 3-0 win on home ice, the Stampeders record now sits at 6-1, moving the team to second place in the MJHL. Next action for the team will be Sunday October 6th against the Winnipeg Blues. The game is a presentation of Home Hardware. *Note* Puck drop is 6:00pm.
