Stamps Blank OCN 4-0

The Stampeders closed out their regular season on home ice this afternoon against the OCN Blizzard.

Before this afternoons contest the Stampeder Organization recognized the graduating 20 year olds. #4 Taylor Derynck #8 Shane Roulette #11 Trevor Mann #12 Keaton Jameson #21 Derek Frater #22 Daniel Chartrand #23 Connor Navrot & #25 Daylin Smallchild.

The opening frame was back and forth action between the two clubs until 11:56. Daniel Chartrand’s hard work down low set up James Maxwell’s 11th goal of the year. The opening frame closed out with the Stamps leading 1-0 and the shots 12-8 in favour of Swan.

The scoring continued in the middle frame as Keaton Jameson beat Logan Thiessen at 14:04 picking up his 22nd of the year. The middle frame closed out with the Stampeders leading 2-0 and the shots 30-12 for Swan Valley.

The Stampeders Trevor Mann snapped home his 25th of the season at 6:04. Daniel Chartrand added to the Stamps lead at 9:50 beating Thiessen for his 14th of the year. Stamps goalie Ethan Peterson stopped all 23 shots he faced and the Stampeders skated to a 4-0 win over the OCN Blizzard.

Ethan Peterson was awarded this afternoons 3rd star with a 2 save shutout. Daniel Chartrand’s 1 goal, 1 assist was given 2nd star. And this afternoons 1st star was Keaton Jameson with 1 goal, 1 assist.

Next action for the Swan Valley Stampeders will be Game 1, Friday March 9th in Steinbach. Puck drop 7:30pm.
