Stamps Drop A 7-3 Decision To Selkirk

On a night of celebrating the Swan Valley Tigers football teams Championship winning team, the Selkirk Steelers would spoil the show.

The Steelers used three power play goals to help them claim a 7-3 victory Saturday night in Swan River.

Swan Valley would open the scoring just over four minutes into the game as Fazer Dodd picked up his 4th of the year. Selkirk would respond with back-to-back power play goals (Colby Jaquet 7:59, Jordan Macfarlane 8:45) 46 seconds apart to take a 2-1 lead. Trevor Schroder would pick up his 7th and 8th goals of the year on back-to-back power play goals which would put the Stampeders up 3-2 after 20 minutes of play.

Selkirk would score three goals in the second period to take a 5-3 lead after 40 minutes of play.  Brett Namaka scores his 12th of the year 58 seconds into the middle frame, Brayden Clark picked up his 5th of the year at 16:19, and Blake Burr scored his first of the night at 18:43.

Cody Blight scored his first of the year 6:01 into the third, Brett Namaka scored into an empty net, and the Selkirk Steelers skated to a 7-3 win Saturday November 9th.

It will be a quick turnaround for both teams as they are set to meet tomorrow afternoon at 4pm to finish off a two game mini series.

Before the game tomorrow afternoon, we will hold a Remembrance Day Ceremony, and a skate wit the Stamps’ will take place following the game.
