Stamps Grab 2 Points Against The Blues

The Swan Valley Stampeders take down the Winnipeg Blues with a dominating 6-2 win on home ice.

The Stampeders had a very impressive start to the game. Winnipeg took a 4 minute high sticking penalty which lead to the Stamps 1st goal as Josh Tripp beat Adam Swan at 2:24. The Stampeders weren’t done there as Trevor Mann added his 17th of the year on the power play at 6:25. Noah Basarab increased their lead scoring his 13th of the year at 11:12. As the opening frame came to a close the Stamps found themselves leading 3-0 and a commanding 17-9 lead in the shot count.

The Stampeders came out flat footed in the middle frame as Winnipeg’s Matt Leblanc scored at 1:05 and Levi Cudmore pulled the Blues within 1 at 5:31. The Stampeders responded just 15 seconds later as Trevor Mann gave the Stampeders a 2 goal cushion. The 2nd period ended with Swan leading 4-2 and the shots 34-21 in favour of the Stamps.

The 3rd period was all Stampeders as Connor Navrot added his 8th of the year just 0:51 seconds in. Matt Osadick added his 12th of the year at 16:16 as he beat Jeremy Link over the glove. Ethan Peterson was a brick wall in the 3rd as he stopped all 14 shots he faced. The Stampeders cruised to a 6-2 win over the Blues and moved them 2 points out of a playoff position. Final shots on net were 43-35 in favour of the Stampeders.

Matt Osadick’s 1 goal, 2 assist night was given 3rd star. Trevor Mann’s 2 goal, 1 assist was tonight’s 2nd star. Connor Navrot’s 1 goal, 3 assists effort was named 1st star.
