Stamps Hold On For A 3-2 Win On Home Ice

The Stampeders and the Kings did battle in Swan River Tuesday night.

Tonight’s preseason matchup between the Kings and the Stampeders had more of a veteran flavour in another low scoring affair.

The Stampeders would open the scoring 7:02 into the first period as Tommy Cardinal would score his first of the preseason. Frazer Dodd would grab the only assist.  Avery Smith would tie the game just over four and a half minutes later, and the two teams skated to a 1-1 tie after twenty minutes of play.

Trevor Schroder would score at the midway point of the second period and the Stamps’ would hold a 2-1 lead after forty.

The two teams would trade goals in the third period. Trevor Schroder at 13:54 (Swan Valley) and Mitchell Joss at 19:50 (Dauphin). The Stampeders would hold on to win by a final score of 3-2. The win evens the Stamps’ record at 1-1 in preseason action.

Final shots Swan Valley 43 – Dauphin 19.

Swan Valley will have a quick turn around as they travel to Flin Flon tomorrow (Wednesday) to face the Bombers. Puck drop is slated for 7:30pm.
