Stamps lose in Winnipeg

The Swan Valley Stampeders were in Winnipeg tonight to face off against the Blues.

The Stamps dominated most of the play in the first period and it paid off as Jaden Townsend scored at the 4:59 mark of the 1st with assists going to Sam Harris and Jakob Besnilian. Brett Evans stopped all 10 shots he faced in the 1st period to keep it 1-0 heading for intermission.

The 2nd period it was all Winnipeg as the Blues scored just 1:19 in and again at 2:26, both goals scored by Brendan Bartlett. Winnipeg continued to press and Dexter Kuczek made it 3-1 heading to the 2nd intermission.

Dexter Kuczek picked up 2 more goals at the 3:41 mark and again at 5:11 of the 3rd to Make it 5-1. Brett Evans exited the game and Swan River’s own Quinn Munro took over between the pipes. Kyle Wiltshire and Dale Goodbrandson added 2 more as the Blue cruised past the Stampeders with a 7-1 win.
Final shots were 32-29 for Winnipeg. Next action for the Stamps is tomorrow afternoon when they face off against Selkirk. Game time is 2:30pm
