Stamps Lose On Home Ice

The Swan Valley Stampeders were looking to move over .500 tonight as they played host to the Steinbach Pistons.

Fans were treated to a back and forth opening 20 minutes which saw both clubs trade several high quality chances. Neither team could find the back of the net and the 1st period ended tied at 0 with Steinbach leading 14-9 in the shot department.

The Pistons opened the scoring just 29 seconds into the 2nd period when Drew Worrad picked up his 17th of the season. Steinbach added another at 16:59 by Bradley Schoonbaert. The middle frame ended with the Pistons up 2-0 and the Stamps leading 23-22 in the shots.

The 3rd period the Stampeders pressured the Pistons but again couldn’t solve Matt Radomsky. Pistons Bradley Schoonbaert added another late in the 3rd and the Pistons went on to defeat the Stampeders 3-0. Final shots were 35-29 Steinbach.

The next action for the Stamps is tomorrow night when the Portage Terriers are in town. Puck drop is 7:30pm.
