Stamps lost 2-1 to the Blues

The Swan Valley Stampeders who are looking to climb into a playoff spot were on home ice tonight to take on the Winnipeg Blues.

The Blues jumped out to a early lead as Brady Castellano scored at the 5:36 mark of the opening frame. The Stampeders answered back at 11:36 as Trevor Mann’s solo rush beat Jeremy Link on a nifty cross crease move. The 1st period came to a close tied at 1 and the shots even at 9 apiece.

The score remained 1-1 until the 6:07 mark of the 3rd period as Brendan Kochanski poked one past Peterson at the side of the net. Despite their best efforts the Stampeders couldn’t beat Link and the Blues held on to defeat the Stampeders 2-1. Final shots on net were 33-31 for the Winnipeg Blues.

Next action for the Stampeders is Sunday January 21st against the same Winnipeg Blues.
