STAMPS LOST TO SELKIRK

The Swan Valley Stampeders made their way to Selkirk for a battle with the Steelers.

The Stamps carried the majority of play in the 1st period but were outshot 14-10. Brett Evans continued his excellent play keeping the score deadlocked at 0 heading into the 1st intermission.

The Selkirk Steelers and the Swan Valley Stampeders went back and forth in the 2nd trading chances. The Steelers Ryan Piwniuk opened the scoring on a break, and beat Evans at the 17:03 mark of the 2nd.

The 3rd period opened up with the Stamps on their heels as the Steelers continued to press. The physicality picked up and the stamps started to generate scoring chances but could not solve Steelers goaltender Hayden Dola. Steelers picked up two quick goals by Barley at 12:05 and McFadden at 13:04 and lead 3-0 with 6:56 remaining in the 3rd period. The Stamps finally solved Dola when Jaden Townsend went back hand roof but it wasn’t enough as the Stamps drop this one by a score of 3-1. Final shots were 27-25 for Swan. Next action for the Stampeders is Tuesday October 24th at home against the Virden Oil Capitals.
