Stamps Make Two Moves On Trade Deadline Day

SWAN RIVER, MB – The Swan Valley Stampeders made two moves on Trade Deadline day.

The Stampeders made their first move early on in the day, sending 20-year-old Tanner McKechnie to the Virden Oil Capitals for futures.

“Virden is getting a mature veteran player, a quality team mate, and a great all around player,” said Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff.

In a second trade, the Stampeders sent 17-year-old Jesse Mistelbacher to the Virden Oil Capitals for futures. Mistelbacher has been with the Moose Jaw Warriors of the WHL this season.

The Stampeders made a trade earlier this year with the Lloydminster Bobcats, acquiring 20-year-old Foxwarren, MB product Tucker Scantlebury for futures.

“We like where we are at right now,” said Head Coach and General Manager Barry Wolff. “We tinkered with our lineup throughout the year, and had several conversations over the past week. We felt that our team has the right mix of skill, grit, and strong chemistry in our locker room.”

The Stampeders return to home ice this Friday January 11th, as they face off against the Winkler Flyers at 7:30pm.
