Stamps Push Win Streak to 3 With A Win In OCN

The Swan Valley Stampeders pushed their recent win streak to three games Tuesday January 22nd in OCN. 

Foxwarren, MB product Tucker Scantlebury led the way with a goal and an assist, while Michael Davis made 31 saves in a 3-1 win. 

The games first goal game off the stick of Stampeder Captain Jaden Townsend, as he beat a sprawled out Dorion Laganiere at 10:48 of the first period. Despite leading 1-0 after twenty minutes of play, Swan found themselves trailing 12-10 in the shot department. 

20-year-old Tucker Scantlebury moved the Stamps ahead by two, snapping home his third as a Stampeder at 7:34. Cory Checco swatted one past Michael Davis at 17:54 that pulled the Blizzard within one. After forty minutes of play, the Stampeders led 2-1 and the shots were 25-24 Swan Valley.  

Brian Harris scored on the power play at 18:31 of the third period and the Stampeders went on to defeat the Blizzard 3-1 Tuesday night. 

The OCN Blizzard went 0/5 on the power play, while the Stampeders went 1/5. 

Swan Valley’s record now sits at 29-9-3-2, seven points behind the Portage Terriers for first place overall in the MJHL standings. Swan Valley’s next action will be Friday and Saturday in Winkler against Flyers. Puck drop goes at 7:30pm both nights. Catch all the action live on HockeyTV.com.
