Stamps Winning Streak Snapped At 4

The Swan Valley Stampeders made their way to the MTS IcePlex tonight for a meeting with the Winnipeg Blues.

The Stampeders and the Winnipeg Blues traded several high quality chances in the opening frame. Both Ethan Peterson and Jeremy Link shut the door stopping everything they faced. The 1st period came to a close tied 0-0 and the shots 10-7 in favour of the Stamps.

The Winnipeg Blues opened the scoring at 10:39 of the 2nd as Dale Goodbrandson grabbed his 22nd of the year. Cam Olstad added to the lead at 13:45. 1 minute later Brady Castellano picked up his 11th of the year. Castellano scored again at 16:21. Josh Tripp scored his 17th of the year at 17:37 on the power play beating Jeremy Link 5-hole. The score after 40 minutes of play was 4-1 with the Stamps leading 26-17 in the shot department.

Matt Leblanc added another for the Blues at 6:12 of the 3rd period. Keaton Jameson scored his 17th of the year on the power play at 19:42 but it wasn’t enough as the Winnipeg Blues skated to a 5-2 win over the Stamps. Final shots on net were 41-27 for Swan Valley.

Next action for the Swan Valley Stampeders is Sunday February 11th in Portage. Game time is 6:30p.m.
