Swan River, MB. – The Swan Valley Stampeders fell on home ice Friday Night, losing 1-0 to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines.
The Story
The two teams had a rough opening 10 minutes of hockey after a long Christmas break. The Wolverines broke the ice at the 13:26 mark of the second period as Guerin Apperley collected his second of the year from the point.
Wayway’s goaltender Tresor Wotton was on his game tonight, turning aside all 45 shots he faced to collect his first shutout of the year.
The Stampeders threw everything but the kitchen sink at the Wolverines but couldn’t find the tying goal, dropping a 1-0 decision on home ice.
